Depends on what phase of life you're at -
1. Don't touch it [save]
2. Invest in self to achieve higher income [education]
3. Invest in self to achieve a position of trust/expertise/authority [certification]
4. Don't touch it while I use the above leverage to earn more money [save]
5. Now that I'm earning more monthly than the 1k is worth, add the 1k flat to my safety net to build 6mo-12mo safety net [save]
6. With a safety net, invest the 1k to give extra spice to my professional services so I'm hired more easily, get better word-of-mouth, and can increase my pricing
7. If I already have all of the above and I'm growing, then maybe invest in marketing
