Opinions and advice regarding Metal Gear

What's your opinion on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? I've been playing for a few weeks thanks to the rona and really getting into it. I played Metal Gear games as a kid but I hardly remember any of it, how should I go about playing the others? Chronological or release order? Also, is MGS1 important to the series, as it's the only one I can't readily play. Every other main series game is accessible via PS Now. I can't run the PC patched version because I only have a laptop with 8GB RAM and integrated graphics. Also, what's the best game in the series?
