Bitcoin is not and won't be private/untraceable in the near future and I don't think it is really necessary at the moment. There are enough alternatives that are fully, or at least somewhat, private. Monero or ARRR just to name two.

I don't sayit is impossible to make BTC private/untraceable. There are coinjoins, payjoins and, probably the best but hardest method, the lightning network. But just use something else if you want to be private. There are many easy and somewhat cheap ways to convert between cryptos.
