Just for the big boys or also for normal people?

I am wondering if Bitcoins is only something for people who inversts a few thousands of even more, or is it like "usefull" for everyone to buy some and... idk use it or wait until they are much more worth?

I am kinda confused about the topic BitCoins and what the exact purpose, except the "untrackable" is...
