China is well on its way to becoming the new global economic super power. Their economy has been outpacing basically the entire world in growth for the past 10 years, and they're currently on track to outsize the US economy by 2024.

Their economic system is unbelievably efficient and responds to times of crisis surprisingly well compared to the rest of the world, especially during the economic downturn that happened in 2008.

China owns and operates the longest freight lines in the world, with a railway going from Yiwu (almost eastern coast of China) to London, as well as an extension to Madrid. Not only does China have impressive rail lines, they also have a highway system over 1,000 km in length connecting themselves to Pakistan known as the Karakoram Highway as part of their Belt and Road initiative, as well as a handful pipelines and other enormous projects in their own country and all around the world. China has been slowly gaining influence by the means of constructing megastructures and forms of transport in countries all around the globe, and have a decent amount of control over the global economy because of it.

China is undoubtedly on track to be the largest economy on the planet.
