i say survival. in creative, you have the freedom to do whatever you want and that is great in itself, but overtime or after you're done building whatever it is you wanted to build, it gets pretty boring. in survival, you can go out and get materials needed for surviving and all that such as food, weaponry, tools, woods and other blocks, etc.. and then even when you finish building, you'd have something to do. you could go on an adventure, fight off mobs, go to the nether or work your way to the end to defeat the dragon. build up your inventory, get loads of food so you wouldn't run out for awhile, get more blocks of wood, stone, etc., in case you'd like to build something in addition to what you've already built. work your way up to an amazing survival home, invite some friends to your game if you're able to, have a good time. by this time, you'd have already gotten most of what you need and more, and may be able to provide your friends with some things to start them off easy before they get to work on their own adventure. you could invite friends into your creative world, but i don't think it'd be as fun and as eventful as playing in survival. you may start off slow in survival, but in the end i think it's pretty much worth it.
