Anytime I've exhibited any sort of addictive behavior I've been able to get it under check by finding something more interesting to do. I found with a lot of them, gaming, jerking off, alcohol etc. that I was really just bored and spending my time doing things that have given me a dopamine hit in the past.

If you find yourself jonesing to do something you know isn't going to make you feel better, or that you don't want to do anymore, just find anything else to do. Find a way to engage your brain in a different way.
