My friend talked me into watching it and I've got to say I actually really enjoyed the show. For reference, I've never read the books or played the games, but I'm passingly familiar with the concent.
Netflix's Witcher series reminds me of Sam Raimi's Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess. Lots of action, kind of campy (in a good way), and enough story to keep your attention. The fight scenes were especially great, and I thought all of the actors/actresses did a good or at least serviceable job. I'm one of many people that thought the Nilfgaard armor looked awful, so I'm really excited to see them changing it up for season 2.
Overall I'd give it a thumbs up. My friend, who is way more versed in Witcher lore, liked it but holds it in a different regard than the books and games. It's a good series to check out if you're looking for something new, especially if you were fans of Herc and Xena or Sam Raimi style flicks.
