Absolutely. A lot of my current knowledge with Adrinos is because of the knowledge I got from Red Stone in Minecraft.
Minecraft is a very good beginner's introduction to the concepts of Electrical Engineering.
Learn about the NOT gates and how you can use them to create things.

As you get into more complex circuits your machines get smaller and more compact.
Also you learn how to wire things in different directions - trying to wire a house in Minecraft, so that the circuity remains hidden in the walls?
Yeah - that's simplified version of what electricians do.

Minecraft has been one of the best teaching tools for engineering and design.
I learned a lot from it, and this was after I graduated for college! lol
