If your ex wants you back what do you say?

I mean it depends on who messed up. If I did something bad, I'd feel guilty and want to make up for that somehow before we got back together, but if it was them, I personally would just want them out of my life.
I guess this hypothetical ex is much more forgiving than me, lol
