why do people hack?

depends on what game, for example i hack on gta online because ive done everything the game has to offer so with mods i can turn the game into a true sandbox like gmod and modify cars and create custom weapons and do all sorts of wacky stuff. but i cant speak for the hackers that hack for a competitive advantage they are just bad.
