Football or Basketball?

I feel like football is more universal whereas basketball seems niche for state only. Each to his own, but if I had to choose I would go for basketball, its more interesting, to watch and play. Football is field is to big and ball goes from here to there back and forth with no proper game to watch so find it boring.
