In a nutshell: Vince Gilligans sprawling black comic tale about a high-school chemistry teacher who, after being diagnosed with cancer, ?breaks bad and begins manufacturing crystal meth is a television masterpiece. No series can match it for set pieces and sheer invention; its comedy is blacker than the Coen brothers; and its grinding emotional truths of a man and a family in crisis make it all seem horribly real. Has to be seen to be believed.
