It could be because youre breaking a routine that youve kept up for years. Its hard for me to fall asleep without some kind of routine- washing my face, brushing my teeth, changing into pajamas, reading a book.
I had to stop smoking for a while too and trying to sleep without smoking before bed took forever for me to get used to. Routine helped!
