Is Genshin Impact a Gatcha Simulator?

If you've ever wanted to play Breath of the Wild but couldn't afford it, you'd probably like Genshin. You can definitely play the game without spending money, especially if you're careful about collecting free primogems whenever they're available. It does have a gacha system, though, so if you know you have an addictive personality, you might be better off avoiding the game. RIP to my roommate who spends hundreds of dollars pulling for new waifus.
