I need a new game

If you don't mind playing old games, the Suikoden series is one of my favorite JRPG series. It is very heavy on lore, story, and world building, but still I consider uite accessible (though you may want to look at guides and such if you are into getting 100% full completion). Additionally, the series' original developers are making a spiritual successor called Eiyuden Chronicle, tentatively planned for release this year, so playing this might help you understand the expectations and hype surrounding that game.
