For me, it's the best sport in terms of developing your strategic and tactical thinking. It will help you also improve your creativity and imagination. I've been playing it since I was a kid as my grandpa insisted that I have to learn this game and know everything about it. Now, my son adores this game as well, and he is even taking the courses at https://www.chessable.com/, and I can tell you he is improving dramatically.
