War is ugly and should never happen, obviously. I feel like with each day that passes, even though the Russian army doesn't really advance as they initially planned, Ukraine gets destroyed more and more. The damage that's already done to the country will take years to repair, so one way or another, the Russian's inflicted damage is something that, even when they back their troops and/or cease fire, will be long lasting.
If there is any good from this, is that the capabilities of the Russian army have been proven to be less worrying than the general public expected (I know they do have nuclear arsenal, but I'm talking more about their ground troops and general warfare equipment) and it prompted world leaders, especially in Europe, to find ways so that the dependency on the Russian goods (mainly gas) will no longer be a problem. This will, in time, be a bigger problem for Russia than, let's say, the current restrictions, which in turn will most likely diminish the importance of the country to some extend.
