90% of Indian computer users cannot send email

While focusing on its Digital India campaign, the government may not have realised that computer literacy in the country is abysmally low. A recent report shows that among all computer users in the country, 14.2% are capable of creating text files, while just a little over 12% can send emails. The urbanised union territories have a higher proportion of computer literates than that of states.
