That shouldn't happen... All of the emojis should show.
Correct. When I sent a group of emojis to my friend(has an iphone) from my android phone, all she saw was "??????????????????????????"
Isn't it vice versa? I used to send my sister emojis from my iphone to her HTC (Android based) and she just received empty textboxes. But any emojis she sent me I was able to see. (Like iOS has every emoji but Android hasn't and isn't able to see those)
That's weird. It's the exact opposite with me. I'm on the Samsung Galaxy s6 and she was on an iPhone 6.
Well that's weird indeed. I messed around a lot with my sister and the emojis, I didn't have any issue seeing one of them, while my sister received a lot of empty boxes. Maybe it was her pretty old phone. She had the first HTC One. Now she has an iPhone too, so we didn't care about it anymore.
I think I found the issue. So, by default samsung phones(not sure if it's samsung only) sends emojis through gsm, making it so that non-android devices can't really understand what it's being sent. When looking through my settings, I was able to locate a setting that gave me three options (gsm, unicode, or automatic). If you chose automatic, it will go with the best method for the device you are sending the message to. I think this has solved it completely, but I'll send this to my friend and ask if she can see them. Hopefully if these emojis were integrated into the site, aoki could have it adapt to each device's preferences. Then It would most likely work.
