Is creating a Kiwi farms style site a suicide mission?

The more I look into it the amount of capital you need to fight off lawsuits and the technology you're banned from is insane. For a while it really did seem like without CloudFlare Kiwifarms was doomed. If 4chan's Moot and Kiwifarms Null didn't have a stash of a few 100k lying around they would definitely be fucked.

Any experiences running a alternative website?
