Trust me, the cold is not something you want. Cost of living is outrageously high in the winter because you need to pay for heat, more heat = more electricity, more electricity = high electricity bill. Honestly, I'd be down to switch because I want to have the sun in mid-January and not some huge snowstorm piling up snow infront of my driveway making me shovel thick heavy snow every morning.
