The biggest issue on both of them is the lack of definition and the "stop" factor. They both lack both of those elements, which is kinda important for most graphical elements, and especially for something that is meant to have those such as user-bars. I've already given my opinion on the "Sanctus" one, so I'll avoid that for now. Regarding the "Mech Hacker Prototype" (for the love of God rename it).. It is a utter mess, the "bevel and emboss" looks awful and the "M" looks flat and everything aside from a "light" as it could be. Try to use gradients to mimic light sources and give it some more depth. The light is flat beyond measure, which is ironic as it is lighting that gives depth to elements.
