Dunno if I can but... it's time to give something back so... here we go. I have a plenty of credits already which I barely use so I don't need more. Enjoy, @Smallman55!
Edit: I've just checked if everything works in 5.4 and I realized I forgot why I wasn't using it. Dunno if the person who leaked this shared an edited version, if the original template has the issues I faced.
So I think some additional info is necessary. I converted it for UE5.4, I have uninstalled any previous version of the engine so this template might actually work fine in UE5.3 but I can only give some into for 5,4 so I'm gonna list them as wollow.
That been said... the content, as it is, has a few things I believe are massively useful... like the fact the Foot IK is fully set up, which means the feet actually adapts to slopes and any surface, and turn-in-place is set up as well. I didn't check the AnimBP yet but from what I saw is ready for any adaptation that crosses your mind, saving you a lot of work. The template as it is looks like a framework.
- The project uses a plugin to customize the editor's Content browser, just disable that and you'll be fine.
- When you hit Play the template starts with the UE4 Character so you can just change to the UE5 Character editing the Default Pawn Class in GameMode.
- The template starts in First Person and in Running mode, I personally hate that kinda approach and I always set up walking mode at BeginPlay. In this template there is one more reason why I suggest to not panic when you start hitting the W button to walk... whoever edited the project before me must have done something about the debug... that's what those colours preventing you from seeing your character are all about. they vanish after a while but they get back every time you walk again. If you start in Walking mode and hit LShift to run those do not show up at all. I remember I actually fixed that problem myself but I'm sorry... I forgot how I did, because I abandoned this template not being what exactly I expected and needed.
- The template seems missing all the maps mentioned in the description so I really dunno what to think and say...aside... I feel trolled and I'm sorry if I gave false illusions, it was definitely not intentional.Â
Last consideration... if you can find the effective functional full template is better but this as it is seems valuable in the meanwhile.
I really hope this is someway still useful. Cheers!
What we been looking for. Thanks
