Everyone can take it a different way, and just because the original concept of loli may have been to provoke sexual attraction, it doesn't mean it's permanently going to remain that way.
Also that reference was terrible to say the least, not to mention very over the top and not at all in accordance with the alignment of the current topic. At least do something on the same playing field. Telling someone you're going to kill them is not at all equal to saying loli is non sexual versus saying it is.
Yes, and things change with time. I never stated that they didn't. I stated that a word has a meaning, and that meaning is based on what the majority of people involved with it say what it means. In this case, "Lolicon" is still a very common and active genre in Japan and it means, in short terms; "sexual attraction to young girls". I never said it was going to remain that way, I stated that it has been that way and it is that way at the current point in time. (And near future for that matter.)
Also, the reference was made to be over the top, to make a point about it. It is on the same "playing field" as this debate as we are discussing the meaning of a word based on subjective opinion on said meaning. Not specifically tied to "Loli" either, as this debate is tied to language. The reference serves to prove a point and make it easy to understand.
