Not really sure why, but at times I think about why I search online for free games or free software.and haven't ever really had an open discussion with anyone on it before, asI never really stayed on the web in one spot for long, always found myself drifting off to the next website or community, never really called anywhere home.

After readingAoki post about the Steam Winter Sale, it made me wonder why I've never really bought any games on steam thru any of their sales. Or really why haven't I supported any dev in the past on any of their projects. I'll be 34 next year and back in high school I came across hack3r.com (to give you an idea of how long they been around, and it's mainly a dead site now with nothing being posted much in the last 4+ years.) I quickly realized how easy it was to obtain stuff for free.

After high school I got into photography and web and graphic design pretty heavy, and of course, no matter how many graphics I sold, how many websites I did, or how many photos I took. They was all edited with "FREE" software. Also, before photography, web design, ect, I was heavy into console gaming as a kid and quicklythe Internet and it was all over from there. Started with something called "Web TV" back in the mid 90s, mainly logging into IRC channels to engage in role play. Quickly after that Diablo 1 was released and I started playing that non-stop until I just couldn't stay awake anymore and had to sleep.

The real fun began when Ultima Online was released and I quickly realized that people would pay you to give them in game accounts or in game money or I could pay someone else to do all the boring leveling for me and I could enjoy the real fun of the "end game" content. Even tho RMT (Real Money Trading) is deemed "illegal" by game companies TOS and EULA, it brings in millions of dollars a year, and after seeing that companies are now doing the so called "Microtransactions" within their games.

Now, here I am today almost 21 years later and I'm online writing in a forum that honestly I joined last night to try and get some free MyBB skins or plugins as I'm once again trying to build another gaming community for myself and fellow gamers to come together and enjoy the things we like. But with sites like NOSteam updating games for free daily and other sites providing free access to software, it seems I've lost all interest over the years to actually buy games. And I could sit here all night long and for the next 100 years talking about gaming I probably shouldn't do that.

So on my closing note, the girlfriend bought me a new Blue Yeti mic and some headphones to go with them for Christmas and they are wrapped under the tree waiting on me Sunday morning, I been trying to get back into streaming more here lately and just building a gaming community like I use to run.
