An information board for Anime

What is Archive?
You must learn before you can teach. Archive is a user group that hopes to do just that for the community; by supporting and teaching other members of NulledBB. Although we aren't focusing on any specific niche, our goal is to better the community as a whole.

Anime Help Desk
I've noticed some people making threads about asking something thats been asked before, and so rather than keeping this pattern of creating more threads of questions about Anime, I've made this thread to answer all of those questions. If a question you have is not listed below, feel free to make a post. I, along with others, will also be recommending shows for people. Read below to find more information on that.

Recommendations
The anime help desk is run by myself and other members of Archive. We will also be helping you find an anime that you'd be interested in watching. When posting to find an anime to watch, please specify a genre, or an anime similar to that of what you want to find; We will then find things for you to watch that suits you.

Anime Help Desk Rules
  • Feel free to ask anything - as long as its anime related.
  • No mini-conversations.
  • Don't post unless it is a question(s).
  • Do not answer peoples questions, this is only for Archive members to answer.

I want to know is (x) anime show is worth watching. Where do I go?
  • A useful website for that would be MyAnimeList - which shows you recommendations of anime to watch (if you signed up and created a list of all the anime you've watched so far), as well as showing you reviews of anime shows made by other members on MyAnimeList.

Another thing that could be used is these two subreddits, Link, and Link 2, that were created on Reddit. These two will provide recommendations for anime shows you should watch as well if you feel MyAnimeList doesn't provide the anime you're looking for.

What show is this gif/screenshot/fan art from?
  • You can usually find out by using a Reverse Image Search Engine. This link will show you a complete guide about them and how to use them effectively.

I finished x series, where should I pick up in the manga to continue the story?
  • If you want to know where the anime ends compared to its source manga, check mangaupdates. It lists the volume and chapter the anime starts and ends at compared to the manga, so you can continue the story in the manga. Note: They won't always list if any chapters are skipped, but they will list if the anime has a different ending compared to the manga. However, you should start reading from the first chapter because of often times anime shows leave out things or change parts, so it may be different.

Is anime x going to get another season?
  • That could be easily answered by using Google. Just search up 'Is x getting a season y?'.

What does OVA/OAV mean?
  • This means Original Video Animation. In normal terms, this means a direct to video release. It's intended to be a series/episode that was formatted and meant for release on video, as opposed to release in theaters or on television. It's usually extra episodes or 'specials' they add onto series.

Anime News
This section will be edited each week, showing you news about the anime world!

Case Closed: This week marks the 20th Anniversary for the Case Closed anime series! Looking back on it, you couldn't believe it's been that long, what a nolstagic feeling.

The series is still up and running after its debut 20 years ago! Even though it has been ages since the show first aired, the leading character - Shinichi Kudo, teen detective, still hasn't grown an inch since the first episode! The manga is still ongoing, but once it ends - will the anime end as well? Several say it will, while others point towards Naruto and Naruto Shippuden as examples of anime series living on even after the manga. We'll just have to wait and see if the anime continues! Congratulations to the show for hitting the 20th year mark! Click here to learn more about Case Closed.
