It actually does. Well, for most or let's say a lot of plugins.
Plugins which are core-based (based on the mybb core files) will not work. Plugins which just add additional features, will mostly work.

He's basically covered it, about 85% (my opinion) will work with simply following this. I've rarely had an issue where I've had to do a little more.

Experienced the same. You only have to convert really big plugins like the vouch system we have around here. I was actually surprised Paytoview didn't need to get converted. (Credits to unlock files)
