Hi, i built a portable version of minecraft, because where i work there's an.... IT lock down, let's put it like this.... (still at school, and the IT guy wants us to concentrate on WORK ! )
It has java inside, which means that whatever computer you're playing on, the only thing you have to worry about is the horsepower, not if it has java, or enough disk space.
Plus, as you have access to all the "appdata" folder (it's on your USB thumb drive) you can add worlds, texture packs, shaders, mods....
I made this with a non-official launcher, cuz te IT guy also blocked all minecraft-related IP's and web adresses... HELP !
Well, anyway, here's the .rar file on MEGA, it weighs 181megabytes, you just unzip it, copy the "Minecraftportable" folder to any USB drive (the faster the better) and VOILA !
You have a portable installation of Minecraft

You launch by double clicking the "Minecraft(x86).bat" file,
right next to the "bin" folder, where you can change the launcher to whatever you want,
and the "data" folder, which is the appdata.
PS: you mustn't close the command window that opens, but you can minimize it.
here's the link :
