Currently, DDR4 RAM is wayyyyy overpriced than it needs to be. Last March, I bought an 8GB Crucial Ballistix for $30. Now, it has literally doubled in price.
If I were you, I'd stick for DDR3 if you're looking for 8GB or above. I think Intel's 6th generation Skylake and 7th generation Kaby Lake both support DDR3 still.
