Aside from the one-sided jokes. Lets be realistic, everyone is addicted to something to some degree, sometimes it may turn into an obsession that itself might turn out bad. Being addicted to anime isn't bad, its something you like, its a form of entertainment that can keep you active and sane. Moderation is however, needed. however small it may be consider going out for a few mins, you do not want to end up always stuck in your house looking at your favorite "waifus" or whatever other terms you call them.
I've done a bit of self-study and friend-study cases of this and found that it can be a little bit therapeutic to watch anime, not saying that it's a confirmed thing, i just did it for my own personal research, but it does help a little bit. All in all its the same as going to work, coming back and wanting to partake in your hobby. Anyone would say to at least keep your priorities in order, don't let it completely take over who you are and what you need to do. The "real world" as people like to say is indeed a huge pain, but you live in it and you have to deal with it.
So no, anime is not bad nor is it a bad addiction, its something you enjoy just like everyone else.
