I've been a long time fan of Apple's phones. I'm not alone when I say I'm disappointed in the 10. I like the the specifications of the hardware, and I'm extremely excited for iOS 11, but there is only one thing will keep me from buying it and that is the gesture controls. There is no reason, not a reason in hell, that in 2017 we should be using 100% gesture controls to navigate. It's slow, clunky, confusing, and sure we will all get used to it, but even the lack of the software home button is extremely discouraging. I thought the point of removing the tactile switch on the 7 was to prepare for technology to have it under the screen and Apple said fuck that, let's put it out anyways. They rushed it because they knew if they DIDN'T announce anything more than the 8 and watch they would tank. People are already on edge with them, and a lot of users have been converted to s8's.

With all of that being said, I have a lot of faith in the iPhone 8. It's extremely well priced for it's performance (if you're an iPhone user). Yes, it lacks OLED. But you're getting wireless charging, the amazing A11 chip, upgraded sensors, and a decent redesign of the frame. This to me feels like the "new" iPhone as it still has a fucking home button. The iPhone 10 is a showroom product for iOS 11 and that's the REAL glue keeping us users faithful. I have always enjoyed iOS and until RCS becomes a standard and my friends and family make the switch, I can't be without iMessage.

That's just my $.02.
