Why are we living?

Eventually we learn that life isn't about having the best answer, or the right answer.

This question is case and point: Starting with a Socratic inquiry of "Well why are things this way and not some other way?" It wants an answer that starts with "Because..." And then there may be another why and another because. Part of what gives philosophy its adventurousness, fun, and reputation as being increasingly arcane, is that this process can go on virtually ad infinitum.
