According to Steamcharts, it's been in a downward swoop since July. It still has a lot of players, however, Valve needs a better system to punish communities who use those plugins since they just use third-party sites and plugins to restart their server and change their token whenever it's banned.
I think a more a steady rate of operations could've helped too. Operations were pretty nice when they were actually still being produced at a steady rate with varied content. Hydra took way too long and with too little content to suffice for it. Maybe the team just isn't interested in giving the game operations anymore. I know it seemed like a lot was in Hydra but all they really did was two different competitive modes, one mission campaign (there's usually two), and those war games.
