My mom used to always wake me up at six in the morning to watch Speed Racer, the original 1966 series. That was long before I knew what anime was. My first anime movie was the horribly edited Warriors of the Wind, the chopped up and hacked Americanized version of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
