What you think about police officers

Though if we are talking about a fantasy world were we didn't have any such system, then the result would probably be a lot like they were in the middle ages (in most far off villages). If someone stole, murdered or did anything of said nature, the person(s) mostly affected by that would probably act out against the person(s) who did it in a way they saw fitting (revenge basically).
