I run a similar forum where we offer something valuable to a certain community, and the restrictions we put in place to slow access to this resource are the very reason we've built such a strong community. If people are forced to actually contribute and come back each day, then they eventually invest enough time/effort that they will keep coming back even after they've got what they initially came for.
