The site isn't going to be shut down however it will instead be archived, allowing it to still be viewed however it won't be 'usable' if you understand. Sadly Cake (the owner) doesn't want to transfer ownership of the forum so this is what he said is going to happen in the upcoming weeks. Most of the reasons are explained by him under certain threads.
