From many users coming in, it's been said that LF will shut down in about 3 weeks or so.
What really happened though? There hasn't been any official announcement on the forum news sections, so I'm legitimately confused on what's wrong that calls for a shutdown.

Here is the full story.

Cake as many know suffers from multiple and extremely serious health issues, and in between 2013-2014 he gained ownership. Within many comments he talks about how he felt responsible for every user's private information (Except those he banned of course) and therefore it was his job to keep up the entire forum. He didn't have any help, and LeakForums had grown so large with tens millions of posts and threads that his work became more time-consuming.

At first, he had a decent love for the community though he disliked anyone who bothered him or acted retarded, but he did what he thought was best for the community, and even worked for days on small items that individuals wanted. Then, legal issues with the leaks came in, causing immense stress for Cake since this meant serious issues for both him and the server which had all the information on it. And he had built the server for leaks, but in a indifferent effort, he tossed away the leaks after spending 3-4 months going through all the leaks to remove the illegal programs to at least please us with the legal ones.

Many people kept joining and he got tired of people only wanting leaks and begging him for stuff, so he stopped caring, which is completely understandable, but people kept getting out of hand, and his health declined over the years with the stress. Finally, he decided he'd archive the forums but let high-quality members have the chance of removing their PMs and personal info. He had hinted on this multiple times, but he didn't care enough to give a full announcement knowing how people would react (stupidly by the way).

He doesn't trust anyone to know how to keep such a massive platform (understandable), and he feels like it was his promise to LeakForums, not anyone elses, so he will be the one to pull the plug. He's already removed many things, especially the ability for new members to join, and as of know, with his health on the line, the forum dying will definitely occur.

Or, here's a simple representation of what happened.
