This is very true. There is a reason people like Edward Snowden are so sought after. Data is worth an incredible amount, depending on its source. For example, if company trends on product lines going into a sharpdecline that are not public knowledge but is leaked, two things will happen: people will immediately sell stock in that company, and they stock will plummet, or people will immediately short-sell the stock (betting on the stock's downfall) and make a ton of money on the company losing money.

This stuff happens everyday, and is a very real and incredibly lucrative part of our connected society.
It rhymes with braille, not drool.
