How did you started playing minecraft?

One of my good friends was constantly talking about minecraft and I finally got my Father to buy it for me (I was twelve at the time). I wasn't crazy about it at first, but I think it was because I wasn't much of a PC gamer at all back then. Once I learned the ropes a bit, I loved it and still do now. I run my own server and have several friends that I play with on a daily basis.
