Although FL Studio may be simple as suggested it is still as advanced as any other DAW I have seen and maybe more advanced than the more complicated DAW'swith a simpler interface. If your voice is not perfect as you mentioned I would also suggest a plugin called autotune by antaresit can do lil wayne style singing or if your going for more authentic voice it can make you sound more tuned while your singing may not be.
I do feel the need to mention that the closer to pitch as you can make it does make the resulting sound better.
