You put in all the anime you've watched and how many times you've re watched them and it tracks how much time you've spent overall watching anime. Like most other websites it also provides you a way to keep track of what episodes you're on.

I think MAL is way better. I know they have outdated design but when it comes to userbase (to Discuss about Anime, Manga and LN), reviews, and updating anime, manga and LN list they are way better.
