{POLL} How many genders are there?

I just don't see how there can be more than 2 genders. What exactly would be the 3rd? I know it's by definition to be non-binary, but what exactly makes it non-binary? The fact that the individual identifies as non-binary? If that's the case, I think it leads to too much of a slippery slope allowing people to identify as basically anything.
