i can confidently say that going sober helped me turn my life around,, even if im still on my path to recovery,, i can 100% assure you that getting off whatever youre on will help you in the long run,, once you learn how to cope with whatever you turn to drugs for without actually using drugs,, life gets SO much better and easier for you

take it from someone who used to self medicate themselves by popping xans,, percs,, and vicodin pills almost everyday

i wouldnt go cold turkey though

id start off by lessening and lessening his dosages of whatever hes taking everyday

withdrawals ((especially opioid withdrawals)) make hell look like a sanctuary

Hmm, depends on how long he is doing and whatever drug he been doing. I assume it's weed but if it's something else then yeah he shouldn't go cold turkey. But, since his girl wants him to quit asap he doesn't have a choice unless he tells her what he is trying to do.
