Yes you should. I actually just invested some money in a mining pool (less risk, more reward imo). I have 40x ANTMINER S9's setup in a warehouse right now lol. I'm on a waiting list for the Dragonmint 16T which is a newer machine currently on the market.
As far as the coins go, we are focusing on alt coins such as Monero, Litecoin and BCH (Note: mining Bitcoin will NOT net you profit). After mining, my broker then converts our coins into whatever pays out the best at that exact moment. The only downside with mining Monero is the fact that you need a very strong graphics cards - because of this we had issues with Ventilation.
Check it out, start with a small investment and get comfortable prior to jumping in balls deep. That's my suggestion
