Why does everything need to have a purpose?

There's no paradox... if they're not compatible with each other, surely the more likely one is the one backed by reasoning/evidence/principles of validity/etc. as opposed to the one you're supposed to have blind faith in and has no evidence to back it up....

They don't... the non-ficticious Illuminati from the 1700s had the specific goal of opposing superstition and religious influence over public life... it was actually people affiliated with the church who made the claim that the Illuminati worshipped satan despite the fact that the Illuminati had no religious affiliation, didn't believe in a higher power, and were atheists. The Illuminati weren't even particularly successful and got stamped out later in the 1700s... pretty much anything beyond that, right up to the modern day, is all just nonsense spouted by conspiracy theorists and has no evidence backing it up.
Life is like a box of chocolates, it doesn't last as long for fat people.
