Can anyone recomed a HQ learning resource about the initial steps on starting a blog?

I have been dooing researh and written content for almost a year now. Everytime I think I am ready to start with the actual website I am loosing my direction due to the overwelming amount of information out there.

So, Is there anyone who can give me a tip on a HQ learning source to start-up for the first time? I have spent too many hours googling, ending up reading something totally not-related content.
