Should csgo be free?

CS:GO released in 2012, and Valve has been making money off of it ever since... Making the game free is not gonna change that, especially as the game doesn't get too many new players anymore.
I agree with the fact that there should be a better system than VAC in place, but I'm not that sure Valve wants that, since they just make more money off of the cheaters who have to buy new accounts everytime a ban wave hits and even though the game is now free I do expect to see a lot them still buying the prime upgrade.
