RE: Have You Ever Shot a Gun?

A couple of years ago, I was fortunate to visit the United States on a family trip.
Our route when on the west-coast, from LA to Las Vegas to SF.
During out time in Las Vegas, my dad and a couple of his friends had 1 thing they needed to get off of their bucket list - To go to a shooting range.

I was only 20 years old at the time, which had annoyed me for the entirety of the trip, since I was allowed no alcohol anywhere at all.
Being from Europe, from a country where 14 year olds are expected to drink at parties, naturally this was a huge bummer.
This also meant that we were almost certain I wouldn't be allowed any of the other fun stuff, such as shooting.

We went to The Range in Las Vegas, and went to speak to them to hear prices.
When in conversation we had to ask, to get it off of our chest, if I was allowed any of the fun or not.

When we asked the guy, his responded with a setence I will never forget to this day;
"If you're old enough to look over the counter, you're old enough to shoot a gun."
We were SHOCKED, and almost couldn't believe this.
It seems to extremely far-fetched to own/shoot with a gun where we're from.

Anyways, we rented our pistols and went to the range to fire a magazine each.
It was extremely thrilling, but I must be honest and confess that only the first shot I made was in the center of the board.
After that shot, my hands were waaaay too shaky to hit anything in the middle of the chest of the plate.

I shot a Golden Desert Eagle, and my dad and his friend went with a Dan Wesson.

Now, a couple of years later, I know for sure I'll get to shoot a gun again.
The best thing you can get here in my country is Saloon riffles at a shooting range, so I know I'll have to go visit USA again some time, to try with bigger and better things.
Next time, I'll probably go to a smaller city, where the prices are not as high, and try my luck with anything available behind the counter.
Would definitely love to try a fully automatic riffle of some sort.
